When you see how much time you have left, you tend to get serious about the time you have now.

Parents are stewards of the children…but they don’t realize it till they are moving away. Parents have a limited amount of time.

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

When you see how much time you have left, you tend to make what matters more.

Parents and ministry leaders want children/youth to believe, understand and love God.

We can’t make a child a Christian or go to church. But you can create enviroments where the Gospel can come alive. You can establish relationship that help impress faith.

When you see how much time you have left, you tend to value what happens over time.

What your this or next week really does matter: because nothing major can happen very a week…it is a collective, constant and weekly investment in the live of kids that make a difference. Over time…it establishes history.

You are going to create history no matter what you do in your ministry…the question is what kind of history are you making?

Words over time create direction. What you say, do and model over time will influence the students/kids in your ministry.

Encouragement:: For every one word of encouragement…there are seven words of criticism.

This explains why work places struggle, people struggle and marriages struggle.

We can change the ratio…we can improve it. We have three circles. Circle 1- inner, Circle 2- influence, Circle 3- life


The 3 Circles

Encourage people more than criticize them…it will replenish them, and improve your relationship with them. We live in a world where people are suffocating from self-doubt.

Which circle do you need to work on…

Don’t wait till the day of one’s funeral to speak good into someone’s life…do it NOW!

Ask your employees “How are you doing?” At least twice as much as “What are you doing?”

As a leader we need to balance the work and the grief/stress that’s coming. Are you a feared leader or a towed leader?

Change the ratio by writing thank you notes…not email, hand written notes. Notice things, let them know what they do matter, let them know your thinking of them, let them know your glad…


Write notes of encouragement

Many pee don’t feel good enough about themselves to let you feel good about yourself. Replenish others and you will be replenished.

Let’s improve the ratio!
